Residents of Wootton are invited to view the recreation of Wootton Station into a typical Isle of Wight Central Railway country terminus of the early 1900s from 6.00 p.m. on Wednesday 13th june 2012. At 7.00 p.m. the Isle of Wight Steam Railway have laid on a special train departing for Havenstreet where you are invited to join their staff and volunteers for tea and cakes and a brief presentation detailing the project, The train returns you to Wootton Station at 8.40 p.m. This is a complimentary evening by the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
The formal opening of the renovation of Wootton Station took place on Saturday 19th May 2012, with the Chairman of the Parish Council, Ken Morris, cutting the ribbon and declaring the renovated station open.
